Sometimes a random advert in a Tube station seduces you into thinking “that would be a good idea” without really considering the implications of the British weather in January. After all, the ‘light show’ in Canary Wharf the previous week was brilliant with beautiful, blue wintery skies and a stunning magic hour. We had our camera/ tripod etc so . . . Northern Line to Battersea . . . except, on arrival at Battersea Power Station, found it was raining . . . hard and very, very cold! Even the security man felt sorry for us. He told these two bedraggled nutters that our tripod outside on the path was a ‘health and safety’ risk. We looked around and found . . . nobody else daft enough to be out in appalling conditions on a Monday night. He shrugged and walked away. We took our picture then head inside for warmth and a cuppa . . . pleased we made the effort.
